It’s 1:45 am and I just returned home after a wonderful night in Huaxi (another Guiyang district about 2 hours from Longdongbao). Tonight I was a judge at GuiDa (“Guizhou University”--the best university in Guizhou province) for a drama contest. It was so much fun and the performances were absolutely outstanding! The students were so talented, it was a blast to be part of an active theatrical audience again, and I laughed harder than I’ve ever laughed in China (and the scripts were written by the students themselves—soooo clever!!!!). Best part of the night: for the first time since coming to China, I said I was at home here, and I meant it. :)
